Uruli
The wide, round cooking vessel of the Kerala kitchen. Also set at entrances with water and flowers.
Every piece here is cast by lost-wax at our own foundry, one mould at a time. These are vessels made for traditional cooking — the same shapes Kerala kitchens have used for generations.

The large vessel — for cooking in quantity at weddings and feasts, and long-preparation Ayurvedic work. The one pictured is 50 inches across, made for a wedding cook.
Deep bronze pan for everyday cooking. Heavy enough to hold heat evenly and outlast anything non-stick. Pictured is our modern line — bigger handles, a shape made for a modern kitchen, and a polished finish.
Small cast cups, finished and polished by hand.
The brass charcoal iron, still made the old way — working chamber, vents and wooden handle. Nostalgia for some, decor for others, and it still presses a shirt.
The standing lamp. Cast and finished here, in the sizes people actually use — for a home, or for a shop selling them on.
The tall tiered lamp, tier on tier of lamps up a single stem. Made to order, for homes and churches alike.
Cast to order with your parish name in the metal. 10 to 500 kg.
Buying one good vessel, for your own kitchen or as a wedding gift. Tell us the piece and the size and we will tell you the price and when it can be ready. We send across Kerala and to other Indian states.
Our vessels come as bare bronze, which is how they have always been made here. If you would like them tin-lined (വെളുത്തീയം പൂശിയ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ) before they reach you, we can do that — just ask when you order.
You can also choose the finish. The traditional Mannar finish is the quieter one you see on the urulis above — that is what this cookware has always looked like. The bright mirror polish is a modern addition of the last decade or so. Both are ours; say which you want.
We supply around 30 retailers and distributors across nine districts of Kerala, and have done for years. Quantity is not the constraint — lead time is, particularly through the monsoon.
For trade pricing, quantities and delivery, call the foundry directly.
We quote on the day rather than publishing a price list. Bronze moves with the metal market the way gold does, and we cast to order rather than selling finished stock at a fixed retail margin — so a printed price would be out of date almost immediately.
Because every piece is cast in a mould built by hand and broken open afterwards, a one-off costs us no more trouble than a standard size. If you want something that isn't on this page, describe it.
The pan pictured was made on request for cooking payasam — a wide mouth, an almost flat base, and small handles, none of which is a size we keep. The varpu above is 50 inches across and was made for a wedding cook.
Tell us the shape, roughly the size, and what you will cook in it.
Mannar has cast bell metal for generations — Kerala Tourism still lists it as a bell metal town. Most of what sells as brass and bronze ware in India today is mass-produced elsewhere. This is not that. Each piece is cast in a clay mould that is broken open to release it, so the mould is used once and no two pieces are quite identical.
